Apex Eğitim Danışmanlığı Ltd. Şti. (“Apex Education”, “we”, “us”) is an education consultancy registered in Türkiye (Mersis No: 0071105384500001), with its registered address at Yeniçağ Mah. Ragıp Tüzün Cad. Alemdar İş Merkezi No: 136, İç Kapı No: 97, Yenimahalle/Ankara, Türkiye. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data in line with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, where applicable, the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What data we collect
When you apply through our website or contact us, we may collect:
- Identity details: full name, date of birth, gender, nationality, passport or national ID number
- Contact details: email address, phone/WhatsApp number, postal address, city and country of residence
- Education and employment details: previous qualifications, work experience, current job title, English language proficiency
- Documents you upload: copy of passport/ID, qualification certificates and transcripts, English test certificates, CV
- Application details: the qualification or programme you are applying for, preferred start date, and how you heard about us (including an agent’s name, if applicable)
- Technical data: basic website usage information collected through cookies
3. Why we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- assess your eligibility and process your application
- register you with the relevant awarding body and arrange your studies
- communicate with you about your application, enrolment and studies
- arrange progression to partner universities, where you request this
- meet our legal, regulatory and quality assurance obligations
- improve our services and website
We process your data because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, to perform that contract, to comply with legal obligations, and, where required, on the basis of your explicit consent.
4. Who we share your data with
We only share your data where necessary, with:
- Awarding organisations (such as Qualifi, OTHM, Gatehouse Awards and Pearson) to register you and issue certificates
- Partner universities, if you apply for top-up or progression routes
- Delivery partners, tutors and assessors involved in your studies
- Recruitment agents, where you applied through an agent
- Service providers who support our operations (such as website hosting and email services)
- Public authorities, where required by law
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some of the organisations above are located outside Türkiye, including in the United Kingdom and the European Union. Where we transfer your data abroad, we do so in accordance with KVKK and applicable data protection laws, and only as needed for the purposes described in this policy.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as needed to process your application and support your studies, and afterwards for the period required by awarding organisations, regulators and applicable law (normally up to 6 years after you complete or leave your programme). If your application does not proceed, we delete your data within 12 months unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
7. How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including secure website connections (HTTPS), restricted access to application records, and secure email services.
8. Your rights
Under KVKK (Article 11) and, where applicable, GDPR, you have the right to:
- learn whether your personal data is processed, and request information about it
- learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used for that purpose
- know the third parties, in Türkiye or abroad, to whom your data is transferred
- request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data
- request deletion or destruction of your data, within the conditions set by law
- object to decisions made solely through automated processing that affect you negatively
- claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing
